At the age of 18 I started a plumbing course at stockport college on my day off from working as a chef and earned an NVQ in plumbing, At the age of 19 whilst still attending stockport college I applied for a job with British gas to do an apprenticeship which I was successful and started shortly after my 20th birthday and trained at the British gas academy in leeds where I obtained my NVQ level 3 in gas, unvented hot water certification, Logic energy efficiency certificate and passed the acs exams to become then corgi registered. Once qualified I continued to work for British gas housing services throughout the north west servicing repairing and installing boilers and central heating systems in social housing accommodation. After 5 years I moved to homecare of British gas working around stockport, Macclesfield and the high peak servicing and repairing boilers.
During this time I qualified to work on LPG appliances and have done various other training courses including working at heights and working with asbestos. After 8 years doing this I moved on to do heating upgrades where my role was to provide solutions for poorly installed or poorly maintained heating systems, powerflushing, repiping systems, emergency boiler swaps, servicing and repair of boilers, smart heating controls(HIVE), condensate protection. In this time I would spend the majority of my time working around wilmslow, knutsford,Alderley edge, macclesfeid and the high peak but also have worked around Derbyshire,Cheshire, greater manchester and Staffordshire. So with 18 years with British gas I decided to fly the nest and started Peak heat limited.
